Decentralized Identity to Fight Modern Slavery
How Koryntia Foundation is using blockchain to secure identities and combat human trafficking
Despite being in the year 2023, slavery and human trafficking still exist in the world today. Shockingly, it is estimated that in 2016 alone, 40.3 million people were subjected to modern slavery, including forced labor and forced marriage. This means that there were 5.4 victims of modern slavery for every 1,000 people worldwide.
At Koryntia Foundation, we strongly believe in the value of individual freedom. Our vision is to provide a blockchain-based identity system that ensures that no one can remove or manipulate an individual's identity, such as a paper passport, for their own gain. With a fair and secure system, individuals can have full control over their money, identity, and keys, which can help prevent them from being coerced into illegal activities such as forced labor or human trafficking.
